Bystock Pools, Devon
I popped along to the meadow area after work and the place was full of winged creatures. The main species was Six-spot Burnet with 100’s on the wing. Still good numbers of Marbled White and Meadow Brown. Large Skipper seem more plentiful as do Small Skipper. Gatekeeper is now in the wing, with a few Silver-washed Fritillary, Comma, Speckled Wood, Large White and Small White knocking about. Singles of Peacock and Red Admiral too. I Emperor Dragonfly that I frustratingly disturbed without noticing it (a missed photo opportunity) and a Male and Female Keeled Skimmer.
